This is pretty awesome, for this to be raw now is kinda shocking to me. it sounds great. its very relaxing and mellow. thats my favorite kinda vibe really. far more appealing and original if i say so myself.
I think if you added anything to this it would get too busy and become really unattractive. as for sound quality i'm sorry dude i can't really help you there.

I don't know if "idiomatic" is the word you're looking for. I think that as far as practicality goes, the bass part is perfectly suitable. I think as far as fitting the instrument itself goes, it makes sense. I think maybe "Realistic" was the word you're looking for. That would be because my band is a guitarist and a slew of soundfonts.
The bassline in general, though, I'd like to think is pretty groovin'.
